GirlKIND + The Mosaic Institute: Next Generation Project

Earlier this year GirlKIND had a wonderful opportunity to team up with Canada's Mosaic Institute and the Vancouver School Board in  aproject called: Next Generation. The project strives to connect youth to Canadian values and help promote peace and active global citizenship while developing leadership skills and encouraging civic participation. Students from John Oliver, Winston Churchill and David Thompson participated separately within their communities in creating awareness on the social justice issue of “gendercide.”

.

The students not only helped raise awareness through their creative means but they also helped raise funds for GirlKIND and Aarti Home in India. {Aarti works with both girls and women. Shelter and schooling for abandoned girls so that they have a chance to live and succeed. Training, Livelihood and Awareness programs with mothers so that they have the economic and emotional independence to make their own choices.} Collectively they raised just under $2000!

I was very honoured and amazed to see all the work the students had contributed as part of this project and very humbled that GirlKIND and our message was chosen be a part of this. Many thanks to all the teachers involved and the Mosaic Institute.  Here is video created by Pure Percent outlining what the project entailed.
